¡Hola! I'm Hugo Quintero. Loreto has been my hometown for over 50 years, I've hiked its islands, helped protect its national park, and built my family's life here. After directing the municipal water department, I co-founded Eco-Alianza Loreto in 2007, where I served as ED, Loreto Coastkeeper,  sea turtle monitoring coordinator and member of the Loreto Bay National Park advisory board. A civil engineer with environmental economics training and NOLS wilderness certification, I write about conservation, water security, ecotourism and sustainable development from the field — not from the outside looking in.
